About SIAEA and why we send text messages

The Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects (“SIAEA”) is a non-profit professional membership association for engineers and architects, based in New York, United States. SIAEA operates a paid membership program, hosts ticketed professional and cultural events, and awards student scholarships.

SIAEA sends informational and transactional text messages only, to its own members, event registrants and ticket purchasers who have affirmatively opted in on a SIAEA web form. SIAEA does not send marketing or promotional text messages, does not purchase or rent phone lists, and does not text anyone who has not opted in on this website.

Opt-in pathways 1, 2 and 3 below are fully public: the mobile number field and the unchecked SMS consent checkbox can be seen without creating an account or signing in. A reviewer can open https://indo-archinect.lovable.app/auth, switch to the sign-up tab, and see the unchecked consent checkbox directly beneath the mobile number field. No credentials, paywall or gate of any kind blocks review of the opt-in, this page, the Privacy Policy or the Terms and Conditions.

Pathway 4 (updating a mobile number from an existing member’s profile) is behind sign-in only because it edits an existing account. It presents the exact same unchecked checkbox and identical consent language shown below.

How you opt in

You opt in to SMS messages from the Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects (“SIAEA”) by entering your mobile number on a SIAEA website form and actively selecting an unchecked consent checkbox. The checkbox is never pre-selected. Consent is captured only when you check the box and submit the form. SIAEA does not collect SMS consent by phone, paper, text keyword, or any offline method — web forms are the only opt-in path.

  2. On the event page the visitor chooses a ticket, table of 10, sponsorship or add-on and clicks Reserve or Continue to payment.
  3. The registration form asks for name, email and mobile number.
  4. An unchecked SMS consent checkbox with the exact language above is displayed directly beneath the mobile number field.
  5. Visitor optionally checks the box and submits the registration.
4. Member profile — mobile number added or updated after sign-in

  2. Member opens the profile page and enters or updates their mobile number.
  3. An unchecked SMS consent checkbox with the exact language above is displayed beneath the mobile number field; if the member previously opted in, the box reflects their stored choice and can be unchecked to opt out.
  4. Member clicks Save. Opt-in or opt-out is written to the consent log with a timestamp.
5. Scholarship, donation and sponsorship inquiries

Once you opt in, you may receive informational and transactional messages such as:

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any SIAEA SMS message at any time to unsubscribe. You will receive a confirmation message and will not receive further SMS messages, except any that are required to confirm your opt-out. You can opt back in later by contacting SIAEA or by opting in again on a SIAEA form.

Consent is optional

Consent to receive SMS messages is optional and is not required to purchase tickets, register for an event, make a donation or become a member of SIAEA.

Privacy of your mobile information

Mobile information will not be shared, sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
