Terms and Conditions

You may use the site for lawful, personal and professional purposes related to SIAEA. You agree not to interfere with the site, attempt to gain unauthorized access, upload malicious code, scrape data without permission or misrepresent your identity.

Membership is subject to eligibility review by SIAEA. Applications must be accurate. Membership fees, once paid, are generally non-refundable except at SIAEA's discretion. Members must comply with SIAEA's bylaws and any additional policies communicated through the member portal. SIAEA may suspend or terminate membership for violations of these Terms or of SIAEA policies.

Event registrations and ticket purchases are subject to availability. Prices are shown at checkout. Tickets are non-transferable without SIAEA's approval. Refund and cancellation policies specific to an event are stated on that event page; where none is stated, tickets are non-refundable within seven (7) days of the event. SIAEA may change the date, venue or format of any event. Attendees must comply with venue rules and any code of conduct provided.

Sponsorship packages entitle the sponsor to the benefits described on the relevant event page. SIAEA reserves the right to decline sponsorships that conflict with our mission. Donations to SIAEA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; consult your tax advisor. Except as otherwise stated, sponsorships and donations are non-refundable.

You are responsible for content you submit — including profile information, news posts, member comments and event materials. You represent that you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe any third-party right or violate any law. SIAEA may remove content that violates these Terms or that is otherwise inappropriate.

The SIAEA name, logo, site design, text, graphics and other content are owned by or licensed to SIAEA and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, distribute, modify or create derivative works from SIAEA content without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.

The site relies on third-party providers for hosting, payments, email and SMS. Your use of those providers is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. SIAEA is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers beyond our reasonable control.

By opting in, users agree to receive informational and transactional text messages from SIAEA relating to membership, event registrations, ticket purchases, payment confirmations, event reminders, scholarship communications, account verification and organizational announcements. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for assistance. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of membership, registration or purchase.

The site and services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. SIAEA does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SIAEA and its officers, directors, volunteers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the site or services. SIAEA's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to SIAEA in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York for any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the site.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
